Windows Phone Overtaking BlackBerry as No. 3 Smartphone Platform in U.S.

The domination and competition between Android and iOS in the United States are truly felt, but that does not mean other platforms do not face serious competition. According to the agency Strategy Analytics, ranked third largest smartphone platform in the 4th quarter of 2012 and is Microsoft, BlackBerry outperform. This is the first time Microsoft's smartphone platform may surpass BlackBerry in Uncle Sam, since 2006.

But of course it does not guarantee this year Microsoft can prevail again on BlackBerry. Latest BlackBerry Platform 10 has a good start in the UK, the first country to get BlackBerry Z10. In the country of origin BlackBerry, Canada seems to be quite successful. This could be a sign of early triumphant return of the BlackBerry, Android and iOS though following in the United States remains a very difficult thing for both BB and WP.

However, certainly this year smartphone platform tougher competition, according to Strategy Analytics report for the first time to lose market share in the land of Uncle Sam. Moreover, the existence of two new alternatives both Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10, Android and iOS could destabilize the whole.
